As both a successful contractor and an experienced paralegal, Suzanne Ervine is uniquely poised to assist contractors and property owners handling their own legal affairs.
Suzanne is a bonded Legal Document Assistant (LDA) registered in San Diego County, and a freelance paralegal. She created Construction Commando to provide affordable, quality legal document services to contractors and homeowners handling their own legal matters without a lawyer. Prior to establishing Construction Commando, Suzanne worked as a paralegal in both law firm and corporate environments.
Suzanne graduated at the top of her class in the ABA Approved Paralegal Certificate Program, Honors, at the University of San Diego. Upon graduation, she was honored with both the Top Business Litigation Student Award and the Legal Research and Writing Award. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Cum Laude, from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She is a Certified Notary Signing Agent.

Suzanne is an avid writer, actively publishing several blogs, including The Contractor’s Secret Weapon, In Propria Persona and SCRIBE, and is a contributor to Legal Tips & Commentary published by Construction Attorney Carl H. Starrett, III. In 2008, Suzanne established Red Sky Legal, a full-service legal document preparation service, to offer individuals and small businesses an affordable alternative to full attorney representation. Together with her husband Roger, she also owns and operates Fidelity Electric, a residential and commercial electrical contracting company.

R.S. Ervine, Inc. DBA Construction Commando is a registered and bonded Legal Document Assistant, in accordance with Division 3, Chapter 5.5 of the California Business & Professions Code (commencing with § 6400). Under this law, any non-attorney individual or company providing “self help legal services,” including the preparation of legal documents such as mechanic’s liens or articles of incorporation, is required to register and post a bond before offering services to the public.
